Monkees Monday #15

“Randy Scouse Git”.

This song is sometimes known as “Alternate Title” considering back in the 60s when this song was released the title was pretty controversial. It can be loosely translated as “Horny Twerp from Liverpool”. Aside from the name, I think the song is pretty darling. I enjoy the large, thunderous pounding on the timpani and Micky’s scatting, which he had become quite fond of around the end of the 1st season and into the 2nd season (which is where this song is found). I enjoy the switches between the light melody to the angry yelling, and I have always been a sucker for the lyrics.

Once again I have been foiled by the fates and am not posting the song I intended to post. This time I am too sick to get the song converted for the blog so I will have to once again shoot for next week. I’m cringing in pain as I type this.
